Three charged in Round Lake Beach shooting
Three men have been charged after a teen bystander was shot in the leg during a dispute Monday in Round Lake Beach, authorities said in a news release Wednesday.
Jose J. Herrera Jr. and Adrian Robledo Garcia, both 19 and of 200 block of Geneva Terrace in Round Lake Beach, and 18-year-old Juan A. Nunez of the 1600 block of Turnbull Drive in Round Lake Beach have been charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm, Round Lake Beach police said.
Officers were called to the 400 block of Meadow Green Lane at 9:41 p.m. Monday for a report of shots fired.
Responding officers found the teen who had been shot in the leg. He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.
Officials said Wednesday there was an argument among the three men over a woman. Police said Herrera fired several shots from a vehicle, striking a 15-year-old who was not involved in the dispute.
Herrera left the scene in a dark-colored vehicle, authorities said.
A judge set bail for Garcia and Nunez at $100,000 each. Herrera's bail was set at $200,000.
