Elgin church to host free Lenten Music Series

First Congregational Church of Elgin has announced its 2017 Lenten Music Series lineup.

Now in its 40th year, this year's Lenten concerts will offer more diverse performances and times.

The Taize worship will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 7.

Organist Yollanda Bornhoff will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19, the featured performers will be the Naperville Chamber Players, with Marie Bennett on flute, Faye Seeman on harp and Dorothy Deen on cello.

On Sunday, March 26, tenor Jonathan Larson and pianist Stephen Uhl will perform "Arias & Art Songs" at 3 p.m.

On Friday, April 14, the FCC Chancel Choir will present "The Crucifixion" at noon.

The concerts will be held in the beautifully stained glass and historic First Congregational sanctuary located at 256 E. Chicago St. All concerts are free of charge.
