South Elgin crash sends 3 to hospital

A crash Tuesday in South Elgin sent three people to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, authorities say.

The three-vehicle crash happened about 5 p.m. and required the occupants of two vehicles be taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, South Elgin Fire Lt. Bill Eckles said.

The crash, which was cleared within an hour, remains under investigation by the South Elgin Police Department. No officers were immediately available to comment on how the crash occurred or whether any citations were issued.
