Environmental Defenders' annual membership dinner set for March 12

The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County will gather on Sunday, March 12, for its annual membership dinner meeting to celebrate its 47th anniversary of protecting the environment in McHenry County.

The public is invited to attend this event from 4 to 7 p.m. at Park Place, 406 W. Woodstock St. in Crystal Lake.

The evening will include a brief meeting and awards ceremony, including Volunteer Award, Young Defenders Award, Government Award and Theta Award.

A buffet dinner will be catered by Duke's Alehouse & Kitchen and a silent auction brings together beautiful creations as well as services available for bidding.

Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the evening by Will Kruger, a guitarist, singer/songwriter, and entertainer. His musical roots go back to the folk era, so he will share songs from that period as well as songs that he has written about our own beautiful open spaces here in McHenry County. Will, who hails from Spring Grove, has toured throughout the Midwest as well as nationally.

For nonmembers tickets are $35 if purchased by Wednesday, March 1 or $45 thereafter. Tickets must be purchased by Sunday, March 5.
