The Latest: 1 dead, 26 injured in California bus crash
KRAMER, Calif. (AP) - The Latest on a crash between a tour bus and two cars in California's Mojave Desert (all times local):
3:40 p.m.
A fire official says the number of people injured in a fatal head-on crash between a tour bus and two cars has risen to 26.
San Bernardino County Fire spokesman Eric Sherwin says nine people suffered life-threatening injuries after Monday's crash. He says 17 others were also taken to hospitals.
The California Highway Patrol said the tour bus crossed into the westbound lanes of State Route 58 near Kramer, about 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
A police spokesman says a 55-year-old woman who was in one of the vehicles was killed.
Police said the bus, which is owned by Arcadia, California-based A&F Tours Inc., seats about 30 passengers.
The company hasn't responded to messages seeking comment.

CHP Officer Brian Benson says it's unclear why the tour bus crossed into the westbound lanes of State Route 58 near Kramer, about 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles.
He says the woman killed was 55 years old and was in one of the two cars the bus hit. He says six others are seriously injured, though a San Bernardino County Fire spokesman says seven people have life-threatening injuries.
After hitting the two cars, Benson says the bus turned over on its side and somehow righted itself.
Benson says the bus, owned by Arcadia, California-based A&F Tours Inc., seats about 30 passengers.
The company didn't respond to a message seeking comment.

The California Highway Patrol says a crash between a tour bus and two cars has killed one person and injured 21 others in the Southern California high desert.
CHP Officer Brian Benson says it's unclear what caused the Monday crash near the unincorporated community of Kramer, and didn't have any further details about the bus or the victims. He says there was no remarkable weather in the area at the time of the collision.
Benson says six of the 21 people hurt have major injuries and that four medical helicopters are on their way to the scene.
Benson says the bus seats about 30 passengers and declined to immediately release the name of the company that owns it.
