U-46 students showcase artistic abilities

Elgin Area School District U-46 will celebrate the visual arts with exhibits at the Elgin State Bank.

The spring art exhibits begin with the middle school art exhibit, "Art Madness," which opens this weekend at the bank's Tyler Creek Plaza location. The opening reception will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 25, at the bank, 50 Tyler Creek Plaza. The exhibit will continue through March 17.

The elementary school art exhibit, "Art is Elementary," will be Saturday, April 22 to Friday, May 12. The opening reception will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 22, at the bank, 50 Tyler Creek Plaza.

The students' work can be viewed during gallery hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

The high school exhibit will feature a closing reception to conclude their "Vision Art Show" at the bank's Randall Road location.

The exhibit will be Wednesday, April 19 to Wednesday, April 26, at the bank, 1001 S. Randall Road in Elgin.

There will be a closing reception from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26.

Gallery hours are: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
