Cubs postcard: A morning frost

MESA, Ariz. - Get a basket of baseballs and a field, and you're all set for a little batting practice.

The field at Sloan Park was covered in a layer of frost Friday morning as temperatures dipped into the 30s by dawn. As soon as the sun had a chance to warm things, Chicago Cubs hitters took to the field for some batting practice and fielding work in preparation for Saturday's Cactus League opener against the Oakland Athletics.

The Cactus League season is set to begin, and that should warm anybody's heart.
