Rolling Meadows man admits to Buffalo Grove robbery

A Rolling Meadows man was sentenced to six months in jail and 30 months of probation Thursday after he pleaded guilty to an October robbery in Buffalo Grove.

Brian Walter, 20, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated robbery, in which he indicated he had a firearm, according to court records.

He was also ordered to pay $709 in fines.

Prosecutors say Walter, who had no criminal background, and a juvenile drove to a residence on the 700 block of Grove Drive on Oct. 27, intending to steal items.

They approached a man there and demanded money, prosecutors said. The man indicated he had none. Walter then demanded the man's cellphone, which he refused to surrender, prosecutors said.

Court records show Walter was ordered to spend the first 12 months on intensive probation, the requirements of which include random drug tests, a curfew and other conditions.
