MCC's Bioneers Speaker Series continues Feb. 28

McHenry County College continues the 2017 Great Lakes Bioneers Speaker Series featuring "Building the Social Justice Narrative on Our Environmental Crises" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the college's Luecht Conference Center, Building B, 8900 Route 47 in Crystal Lake.

The presentation will feature Shalini Gupta, founder and executive director of the Center for Earth, Energy and Democracy (CEED). Her work is focused on forging solutions to our environmental crises that are grounded in economic and social history. She has worked with a range of organizations from local grass-roots groups to international organizations engaging in the promotion of sound environmental policy and environmental justice and sustainable policies at the community level and across the country.

Selected area organizations will be available, along with the speakers, for further discussion after the presentation.

The speaker series is sponsored by the McHenry County College Sustainability Center and the Bioneers Steering Committee.
