McHenry County PADS in urgent need of women and youth clothing

McHenry County PADS, a program of Pioneer Center for Human Services that provides services to nearly 300 homeless men, women and children each year, is in need of clothing for women and youth.

Because of the generosity of the community this past holiday season, PADS has ample apparel available for clients and only has the urgent need of T-shirts, pants and undergarments for women and youth.

Individuals interested in helping to donate to fill these need can contact Lori Lattanzio, development and marketing assistant for Pioneer Center, at (815) 759-7114 or llattanzio@pineercenter.org.

All clothing must be new and in their packaging. Other items of clothing cannot be accepted at this time.

In December, PADS expanded its Day Center and transportation services to seven days a week to fill the greater need of services. This operating change for homeless services expands the ability to serve clients further.

The program's Day Center provides shelter with connectivity to case management, warm meals, and access to a small food pantry, showers and laundry facilities. Located in Woodstock, the Day Center at 14411 Kishwaukee Valley Road opens at 7 a.m. daily.

The program's services include daily transportation to local train stations, stores, libraries, and church sites. Recently expanded transportation services on Saturday and Sunday provides individuals with shelter and safety from inclement weather conditions when traveling to different church sites over the weekend.
