COD Receives FY 2017 Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from GFOA

The Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada (GFOA) recently announced that College of DuPage has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for FY 2017. This is the 19th year the College has earned this award.

The GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award Program has been promoting the preparation of high quality, transparent budget documents since 1984. The award reflects the commitment of a governing body and staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive this award, the institution must satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation, including a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.

"We take our responsibility for transparency to the taxpayers of our district very seriously," said President Dr. Ann Rondeau. "This award demonstrates that as we plan for our future, our fiscal goals are presented to all constituencies in a clear and understandable format."

College of DuPage is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Serving approximately 28,000 students each term, College of DuPage is the largest public community college in the state of Illinois. The College grants nine associate degrees and offers more than 170 career and technical certificates in over 50 areas of study.

GFOA is a major professional association servicing the needs of 18,300 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and their financial practitioners. The association is headquartered in Chicago, with offices in Washington, D.C.
