FIA to hold largest Holi Festival

By Moon Khan

After presenting several fantastic community events in 2017, Federation of Indian Associations (www.fia-il.com) is working on opening the spring with a bang by holding a magnificent Holi program on April 2nd, from 12 PM to 5 PM, at Grand Sports Arena, 2350 Hassell Road, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169.

"If our community cooperates with us, we can entertain thousands of people in this arena and make a milestone event for the entire northwest suburbs," said FIA Founder President Sunil Shah. "Instead of holding small events in various localities, it is better to hold this kind of mega cultural event on a higher level for more soft cultural influence."

To make the program affordable to everybody, FIA has decided to charge only $5 entrance fee if the attendees buy the tickets at www.sulekha.com in advance. However, at the gate, it will cost $7, said Mukesh Shah, FIA President for 2017. Kids under five are free.

Onkar Singh Sangha, FIA Past President and Founder, assured that the doors for the dazzling program will open at 12 PM and will close at 5 PM. From 3 PM to 5 PM, fans will have the opportunity to play with colors and enjoy the traditional "Rangoli" tradition. Colors will be available for purchase at a discounted rate.

"A quality event cannot be organized in less than $5, which doesn't cover even our expenses," insisted Neil Khot, Executive Vice President. "This is our 4th HOLI MELA event and we will make sure that everyone will have most colorful time."

Last year's FIA President Dhitu Bhagwakar expects a crowd of more than 4,000 at the festival.

"Since we have more bells and whistles than last year, we can expect more crowd this year," added Rita Singh, another past president.
