Correction: Chicago Violence-Officer story

CHICAGO (AP) - In a story Feb. 18 about an off-duty law enforcement officer who was shot in the leg in Chicago, The Associated Press reported the wrong title for the victim. The person who was shot is a Cook County sheriff's deputy, not a sheriff.

Chicago police say an off-duty Cook County sheriff's deputy was shot in the leg on Saturday night and taken to the hospital

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police say an off-duty Cook County sheriff's deputy was shot in the leg on Saturday night and taken to the hospital.

Police say the deputy was in good condition.

Two offenders are being sought in the incident.

No other information, including the identity of the deputy, was released.
