Hoffman Estates to stage 'High School Musical'

It was definitely a happy ending to the long hours of practices and preparations of the students and staff who worked on stage or behind the scenes of Hoffman Estates High School's 2017 spring musical production of "High School Musical."

Written by Peter Barsocthini and directed by Kenny Ortega, "High School Musical" will be presented at 7 p.m. on Fridays, Feb. 24 and March 3; Saturdays, Feb. 25 and March 4; and Thursday, March 2, at the high school 1100 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates.

Tickets are $10 and seats are assigned; March 2 is student night, all tickets are general seating and $5. For tickets, visit http://cordone0.wixsite.com/hehsboxoffice.

"Doing 'High School Musical' was one my favorites because the musical was about teenagers," says senior Adam Welk, who plays the main character, Troy.

"Staying true to yourself is probably one of the most important things you can remember in high school. It's very important, and 'High School Musical' definitely teaches you that, for people old and young."

"The musical is a great experience for everyone in the building," says senior Becca Fuscone, who plays Gabriella. "This is by far the most fun show that I've had the pleasure of being a part of, and it's not just for me, it's the whole school, which is pretty sweet."

Director Jason Stevens brings it all together by adding, "I love the hard work and dedication that everyone brings to the show. From day one, every member of this team that has made this show great, has given 110 percent, and I hope that shows to the audience."
