Fox Lake Polar Plunge

Fox Lake invites community members to "Take the Plunge" into Nippersink Lake during the annual Fox Lake Polar Plunge for Special Olympics on Sunday, Feb. 26. Check in is 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the plunge begins 1 p.m. at Fox Lake Lakefront Park on Nippersink Drive. Participants must raise a minimum of $100 in donations. The money will benefit the Special Olympics Illinois Athletes in the Lake and McHenry Counties. Prizes will be awarded to participants who collect $250, $500 and $1,000 in donations. Participants under age 18 must have a waiver signed by their parent or guardian. Plungers will receive an official Polar Plunge hooded sweatshirt and those who raise the top amount in their respective categories will be acknowledged with awards at the event.
