Cary battery suspect identified himself as chiropractor, police say

A man who identified himself as a chiropractor entered a downtown Cary business Wednesday and offered to evaluate a woman before covering her mouth from behind and telling her to go to sleep, police said.

It happened at about 12:45 p.m. at a business on the 100 block of West Main Street, police said in a news release.

An woman said the man entered the business and asked about nearby vacant businesses before offering to evaluate the victim as a chiropractor. The victim accepted. During the evaluation, the man covered the victim's mouth with his hand from behind and asked her to go to sleep, police said.

The victim asked the man to leave, and he did. He was last seen getting into a gold Buick Century or LeSabre with an Illinois license plate beginning with "Y" or "A7." He's described as an older man with white hair, wearing a dark jacket, dark shoes and blue jeans.
