CLC STEM Speaker Series highlights the work of Nikola Tesla

Nationally renowned author, speaker and journalist John Wasik will discuss his new book about inventor Nikola Tesla at the College of Lake County STEM Speaker Series at 7 p.m. Feb. 23.

The new book is "Lightning Strikes: Timeless Lessons in Creativity from the Life and Work of Nikola Tesla." Wasik's presentation will use Tesla's life and inventions as a lens to show how we can spark our own creativity and innovation in business and technology.

'Lightning Strikes' examines his complete life and legacy, including Tesla's profound influence on everything from systems integration to drone warfare. I will tell the compelling story of how Tesla created radio, the modern electrical grid, robotics and wireless/remote control," Wasik writes. "For those who are fans of the Tesla car, Google or drones, this is an exciting journey of inspiration and discovery."

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Room A011, the Lower Level A Wing Auditorium at the Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St. Please preregister at www.clcillinois.edu/STEM. For information on the speaker, visit http://johnwasik.net/.
