District 62 introducing online registration for school

Des Plaines Elementary School District 62 will introduce online registration for its families beginning March 27.

Online registration will be open for all returning students entering grades 1-8 for school year 2017-2018. Any new students or students entering kindergarten will use the existing paper registration process.

"The administrative team began the process of exploring an online registration process for families in an effort to provide a more efficient and effective operation during student registration," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Floyd E. Williams, Jr.

The benefits include streamlining the process and time committed to the manual entry of student registration. This will also assist with the automation of the invoicing and simplifying the fee payment process.

The web-based system allows families to register their returning students from any location and save time filling out forms.

"As we understand this is a new initiative for our families, our intent is to provide as much support as possible throughout this process," said Chief Technology Officer Jennie Magiera.

"For those families who do not have access to internet-enabled devices or need additional assistance, open houses will be offered at the end of April."

Additional information regarding the support open houses, including dates and times, will be announced in April.
