Trump actually provides golden opportunity

We sat unbelieving when the results of last November became painfully obvious and wondered how devastating this was going to be until the next election.

I expressed my concern about the winner but made a gargantuan mistake when I said, "Don't worry, he is one person. He can't get too crazy as there are two other branches of our government."

I am afraid I was wrong. There is no legislative branch any longer. In its place we have Republican puppets doing whatever the egotist wants. Only a handful of these puppets saw anything wrong with the inhuman, disgraceful example of racial and religious profiling and spoke up against the blanket ban on innocent travelers. The rest danced on their strings manipulated by their leader.

Only two of them cut themselves loose from their strings to vote against the confirmation of a totally incompetent billionaire and political contributor to head the education department.

I can only hold out hope that eventually with vigorous litigation challenging the actions of these puppets and the demagogue, that the third branch of our government will be able to restore some sense of sanity to our society.

I can only urge the minority party to begin now to have attractive alternatives for the midterm elections to cut some puppet strings and to develop a national candidate who will be there for all of those disenfranchised and disenchanted voters looking for relief in four years. The egotist is vulnerable and has become more so each day. Look at this as a golden opportunity.
