MCC offers Student Police Academy
McHenry County College Student Police Academy members recently completed their 16-week credit class, CJS 290, that consists of a variety of police related topics and hands-on activities.
The lessons include defense tactics, handcuffing, SWAT and building entry, crime scene investigation and firearm simulations.
Classroom discussions include domestic violence, ethics and specialized officer training.
MCC's two-year program in criminal justice, which leads to an associate in applied science degree, helps develop the skills, knowledge and attitude necessary for employment and advancement as a law enforcement officer.
The degree also serves as a foundation for associated professions that require advanced study, such as probation, parole, corrections and social services.
If you're interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree in a criminal justice-related discipline, MCC offers you the opportunity to complete your AS degree in an accelerated, online format.
