Glencoe's Aitz Hayim presents Jewish scholar Steven Katz on impact of Zionism on American Jews and on Israel

On March 10-11, Steven T. Katz, the distinguished head of the Eli Wiesel Center for Jewish Studies at Boston University, will explore the often misinterpreted meaning of "Zionism."

Zionism today signals different things to different people, especially to American Jews, who are split about its definition. Even Israelis have different perspectives.

Professor Katz will share his perspective with Glencoe's Aitz Hayim for Jewish Living, in the Tross Family Education Center, 1185 Sheridan Road in Glencoe on the evening of March 10 and on Saturday morning, March 11.

A Kabbalat Shabbat service will be held on Friday evening, March 10, which begins at 6:30 p.m.

A dinner will be served at $20 per person.

Reservations are required for the Friday evening dinner by calling the Aitz Hayim office at (847) 835-3232 or email shalom@aitzhayim.org.

Professor Katz will continue lecturing following Shabbat services and kiddush lunch on Saturday, March 11.

For more information on both programs, visit www.aitzhayim.org or call (847) 835-3232.
