Students attending tech conference Saturday in Arlington Heights

Students in grades three to 12 will learn about technology from peers, educators and guest speakers during a conference Saturday in Arlington Heights.

South Middle School, 400 S. Highland Ave., will host one of five events across the state Saturday that are aimed at replicating industry-level conference experiences, according to officials with the Students Involved with Technology Conference.

The 17th annual conference will include learning sessions on topics such as robotics, gaming, hardware, app development and internet safety. Student presenters will also lead 20-minute sessions on topics of their choice.

Some 2,000 students are expected to attend across all five sites, which includes Bensenville, Berwyn, DeKalb and Bloomington-Normal.
