Let the Schaumburg Park District plan your next party

If the idea of a party host, caterer and exclusive location seems out of reach for your child's birthday, think again. Schaumburg Park District has you covered.

"We provide everything, right down to the candles on the cake," said Pam Gauper, party coordinator. "Parents don't have to do any work and the parties are very affordable."

Among new themes available in 2017 are Pokémon, Shopkins and of course -Troll True Colors. The District also offers a "You Want it, We've Got It" option with custom themes for the birthday boy or girl. Party locations include The Water Works and Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, Bock Neighborhood, Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane and Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way.

Gymnastics and sports-themed parties are available at The Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road, with barnyard animal and historic-themed parties offered at Volkening Heritage Farm, 201 S. Plum Grove, Road.

"We try to keep up with the latest party trends," Gauper said. "Mom and Dad can relax while we focus all the fun on the kids."

Other popular party packages include:

• The Water Works Splash Away Party-includes a party host, two hours of swimming and one hour in a party room, with choice of pizza or hot dogs and chips; drinks, cake and ice cream.

• Indoor Playground Party (ages 2-5)-includes a party host and two hours in the Discovery Room, with choice of pizza or hot dogs and chips; drinks, cake and ice cream.

• Bubble Soccer (ages 8-16)-includes one hour in a party room, one hour of supervised games on a turf soccer field, a party host, food, cake and invitations.
