College of Lake County and School of the Art Institute of Chicago transfer agreement yields first success

The College of Lake County's new Guaranteed Transfer Admission agreement with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) has yielded its first accepted student, who also received a prestigious scholarship. The two institutions signed the agreement during Fall Semester 2016, and the partnership provides CLC students the opportunity to receive guaranteed admission to the respected art school.

Robert Lossmann, CLC professor of art and humanities, said that the student also received SAIC's $25,000 Presidential Scholarship and will transfer in fall 2017. "We are very excited to share the news of our CLC student's success," he said. "Although the student prefers to remain anonymous, she is a wonderful artist who is very talented in painting and drawing. This student's acceptance marks a new era of cooperation for College of Lake County students who wish to complete a bachelor's degree at one of the Midwest's premier art schools," he said.
