District 54 Education Foundation partners with Lou Malnati's for fundraiser

The District 54 Education Foundation will be hosting a fundraising give back event with Lou Malnati's on Wednesday, March 1. Mention the fundraiser at the time of your order and present the event flyer, and Lou Malnati's will donate 20 percent of total sales to the Education Foundation. Purchases include dine-in, carryout or delivery at both locations in Schaumburg (357 S. Barrington Road and 1 S. Roselle Road). Online ordering is excluded.

Currently 22 percent of District 54 students qualify for the federal free lunch program, meaning 22 percent of students live in a household where the annual salary is approximately $32,000 for a family of four. The District 54 Education Foundation has made a commitment to serving these students by

• Funding breakfast programs at each school so that students can start each school day ready to learn (visit http://d54foundation.com/food-4-thought/ to learn more);

• Funding after-school STEM programs so that all students have the opportunity to become innovators, practice collaboration and be prepared for the exciting opportunities in their futures; and

• Awarding grants to students from low-income households to participate in extracurricular activities, so that they have the same opportunities as all children.
