Get ready for big Earth Day event

Signal Hill Chapter of NSDAR, Countryside Elementary School Green Club, Cuba Township Food Pantry and Chicago Logistic Services have joined together for a wonderful Earth Day event! Now is the time for the Barrington area to start collecting the items that will make a difference to both the landfills used by Chicago area garbage disposal companies and also feeding the hungry of our area.

The collectibles will be recycled, reused, and re-purposed into other usable products.

Accepted: All cork (plastic included), Styrofoam, foam peanuts, Bubble Wrap, CDs, DVDs, VCR and cassette tapes, the plastic cases, clothing (all conditions), e-waste (TVs require a $25 cash fee), all clean batteries and nonperishable food products (in-date), egg cartons and all sizes of clean wine and champagne bottles.

Earth Day is Saturday, April 22. Our event will take place in the Countryside School parking lot on that day from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please help divert these items and consider ways to no longer use them.

Thank you! Direct questions to Conservation Chairwoman P. Denise Israel at (847) 381-9487.
