No matter who tells it, a lie is still a lie

The dumbing down of America is not about a high school or college education. It's about ideology taking the place of common sense and rational thinking.

The choice of being ignorant and uninformed is now worn as a badge of honor. Alternative facts, conspiracy theories, and fake news are now embraced.

As Americans, not Republicans or Democrats, we have some serious questions to ask ourselves.

When did bigotry, racism, and misogyny get a mainstream platform?

When did we go back to "the world is flat" mentality and have a total disregard for science, research, and facts?

When did we replace honor, character, and dignity with buffoonery?

When did we enable religious zealotry and dogma to dictate to us not only what it means to be a Christian but whose side God is on?

When did we, as Americans, stand by and not question a deliberate campaign to discredit and intimidate our free and legitimate press?

When did blind partisanship ignore the serious personality disorders of narcissism and pathological liar which this president exhibits on a daily basis?

History will be the final judge not only of this president, but of us as a country. When we emerge from chaos, many will be asked how they could have stood by and let these events happen. Many will not have an answer.

But there will still be one truth. A lie is a lie, no matter who tells it.

That is a fact.
