32nd Annual Organ Fest Features Local Organists, Highlights Classic Organ

Sunday, February 12, at 4 pm, First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights will present the 32nd annual Organ Fest. The event is the fourth entry in the church's free 2016-2017 Concert Series. Once again, Organ Fest will bring in accomplished local organists to create amazing music and showcase the range and depth of the church's 52-rank Schantz pipe organ, installed in 1972. The concert features an exciting program that includes variations on "The Star Spangled Banner," a sonata based on "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz, and a suite of music from Star Wars.

Featured organists include Michael Gagne, Jeffrey Neufeld, Kirstin Synnestvedt, Christopher Urban and Gary Wendt. "This annual event provides one of the hallmark organ performance events in the region," said Christopher Urban, associate director of music and organist at First Presbyterian. "The concert should be a real crowd pleaser, especially with the great pieces from The Wizard of Oz and Star Wars."

All Concert Series events are free and open to the public, with free child care also available, on advance reservation with the church office (reserve care by March 9). The church will also stream the concert live, at www.fpcah.org/webcast. First Presbyterian Church is at 302 N. Dunton Ave. in Arlington Heights.
