Grace Lutheran donates to ELCA Good Gifts program

The Rebecca Circle of Grace Lutheran Church of Lily Lake raised enough money at their annual Christmas luncheon back in 2015 to send chicks and a rooster through the Good Gifts program by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

During the 2016 holiday season, the group decided to open the project to all the members and friends of Grace Lutheran.

Like the traditional story of the tiny mustard seed, the project grew and grew.

Starting out with a humorous skit in church, and utilizing the barn and piggy bank boxes, the fund grew to more than $1,400.

Individuals, families and groups met the challenge and generously gave to the ELCA God's Global Barnyard Project.

With joyous hearts, the Rebecca Circle members were delighted to choose a goat, a share of an oxen and plow, an entire family farm, a share of a well, and a community vegetable garden with their donated funds. These are truly the gifts that grow the church!
