Oakton recognizes President's Scholar from Lake in the Hills

Nearly 1,000 Oakton Community College students were recently recognized for their academic achievements in the fall 2016 semester with President's Scholar honors, including Nicole Koson from Lake in the Hills.

To be recognized as an Oakton President's Scholar, a student must be enrolled in at least six credit hours at course levels at 100 or above during a given term, earn a perfect 4.0 grade point average that term, be in good academic standing and meet standards of academic progress at the end of the term for which honors are being considered. The college also recognizes students with High Honors (3.75-3.99 GPA) and Honors (3.5-3.74 GPA) and awards Commendation for students with a 3.5 GPA or higher and one to five credit hours at the 100 level or above.

"Student success is central to all of our work at Oakton, and these students exemplify that value," said Oakton President Joianne Smith. "Congratulations to our many talented students in seeing their hard work pay off."
