Celebrate Valentine's Day with laughter at the ECC Arts Center

Comedians Pat Hazell and Karen Morgan will celebrate Valentine's Day with "laughter ever after" during an evening of love-themed, stand-up comedy at the Elgin Community College Arts Center. The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the Blizzard Theatre, Building H, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

In "My Funny Valentine," celebrated comedians Pat Hazell and Karen Morgan join forces for a hilarious and heartwarming night of comedy. The duo find the humor in relationships, dating, parenting, family life, and offer relationship advice during a comedic Q&A with the audience. Hazell is one of the original writers for NBC's "Seinfeld" and Morgan won the Improv Comedy Club's national comic search in 2012.

In addition to his time writing for "Seinfeld," Pat Hazell is a "Tonight Show" veteran, a critically acclaimed playwright, and a contributing commentator to National Public Radio. Showtime once declared him one of the five funniest people in America. Hazell performed his signature show "The Wonder Bread Years" at the ECC Arts Center in 2015. A grand salute to the baby boomer generation, "The Wonder Bread Years" also aired on PBS where they referred to Hazell as "America's foremost pop culture anthropologist."

A former trial attorney, Karen Morgan began her comedy career in 2005 as a finalist in Nick at Nite's "Search for the Funniest Mom in America." She has appeared in theatres and comedy clubs across the country including The Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, Caroline's in New York City, and Comedy Connection in Boston. Her radio clips can be heard on Sirius XM Radio and her book "You Might Be A Mama" was published by Peter Randall Publishing in 2005.
