Yes, Valentine's Day is coming, and we would all like to receive valentines and be someone's heart. Whether it is noted with cards, candy or flowers, it doesn't matter, as long as we are made to feel loved and special.
Pets also want to be the object of your attention - especially those that have no home and someone special to love them. Sure, we at Buddy love all our dogs and cats, but they would rather be sitting on a sofa, eating candy (animal appropriate) out of a heart shaped box and watching a Hallmark movie with their own valentine.

To that end, The Buddy Foundation has partnered with Pet Supplies Plus, 67-71 W. Golf Road, Arlington Heights, (847) 364-1177, to help you find the perfect valentine.
Located on the front window of Pet Supplies Plus are some of the cats and dogs that are available for adoption at The Buddy Foundation. Find an animal's picture, read the bio, obtain the special flyer from the cashier and come to The Buddy Foundation.
Upon adoption, you will receive a special coupon from Pet Supplies Plus ($10 off a $50 purchase), a $25 discount coupon toward the adoption fee, a special valentine surprise for you and your new pet and a lifelong, loving buddy.
If you already have a houseful and they can't be yours, you can always make a donation in an animal's name and brighten their Valentine's Day.
Listed below are some cats and dogs available for adoption:
• GiGi: A 2-year-old female hound mix, very sweet and lovable.
• YoYo: A 2-year-old male Chihuahua. He is good with people and other dogs.
• Bunky and Spunky: 1- to 2-year-old brothers. If you are looking for a pair of cats, they would be ideal.
Buddy's birthday:
Help celebrate Buddy's 22nd birthday from 5-8 p.m. Thursday Feb. 23, for "Spring Fever" at Chandler's, at the Schaumburg Golf Course, 401 N. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. Your donation of $30; $35 at the door includes a buffet dinner and two drink tickets. There will be auctions, prizes and raffles to help support Buddy's animals.
