Jail time, probation for Mount Prospect domestic battery
A 20-year-old Wheeling man on Wednesday pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic battery for entering a home, grabbing a woman who was inside and threatening a man who was with her.
Javier Noveron was sentenced to two years probation and 149 days in Cook County Jail in exchange for pleading guilty to the class 4 felony, which is punishable by up to three years in prison. Noveron was also ordered to pay $724 in fines, according to court records.
Mount Prospect police responded to a call about a robbery at a home in the 300 block of Main Street on Sept. 5, 2016. En route, they learned the offender had fled in a black sedan. According to the police, the female victim told officers Noveron had entered the home and confronted her and a male victim. Police say Noveron threatened both of the victims, grabbed the woman around the neck and took her cellphone, preventing her from calling 911.
Officers located the black sedan at Main Street and Northwest Highway and stopped the car. Of the five occupants initially detained, four were released and Noveron was charged, police officers said.
