Elk Grove trustee race uncontested after challenger drops out
A candidate for Elk Grove Village trustee has quietly withdrawn his name from the April ballot, all but guaranteeing the village board will be filled with incumbents after the election.
Julio Lucotti III removed himself from the now-uncontested race after facing a challenge by Scott Carlson - a plan commission member appointed last February by Mayor Craig Johnson. According to the challenge filed Dec. 27, Carlson claimed Lucotti had problems with signatures, failed to fasten together his 16 pages of signatures and didn't include a statement of economic interest.
Lucotti turned in his official withdrawal before the village could schedule a hearing on the challenge. He didn't return a phone call for comment Thursday.
Incumbent trustees Pat Feichter, Jeffrey Franke and Christine Prochno will get another four years in office.
