COD hosts talent competition

The McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage will host the second annual Apollo Live! student talent competition at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, in the Belushi Performance Hall in the McAninch Arts Center on campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.

Admission is free.

In celebration of Black History Month, and in recognition of the famed "Live at the Apollo" performances hosted at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, this event will feature COD students competing against each other in a variety of areas, including dance, gymnastics/acrobatic, music, singing and spoken word performances. The top three performers will receive prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250.

The competition is open to College of DuPage students. Prospective contestants must submit a 30- to 60-second audition video by midnight Monday, Feb. 6, to MAC Director Diana Martinez at martinezd59@cod.edu. Visit the website to download an application for the competition.
