Cousin shouts during trial for Chicago schoolgirl's killing

CHICAGO (AP) - A Chicago woman accused of supplying her teenage cousin with a gun that she used to kill a 14-year-old rival made an outburst during her trial.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports (http://bit.ly/2k0EqwW ) 35-year-old Vandetta Redwood shouted and used an expletive in court on Wednesday during the prosecution's closing arguments.

She is charged with giving a handgun to a juvenile knowing it would be used to commit violence in the April 2014 shooting of Endia Martin. Redwood is also charged with possession of a firearm in a school zone.

Redwood said she "didn't kill no baby" and that others lied about her. Her attorney had to calm her and the judge excused jurors.

If convicted, Redwood faces up to 15 years in prison. Her cousin, now 17, is awaiting trial on murder charges.
