District 26 to appoint new board member Feb. 2

River Trails Elementary District 26 school board members plan to vote Feb. 2 to appoint current board candidate Sue Stolzer to fill the remaining three months of former board member Dan Miller's term.

The April 4 board election is uncontested, with Miller expecting to move out of the district in the near future, Board President Donna Johnson said.

Stolzer's appointment is being moved up a few days to include her in all the upcoming meetings about finding a replacement for departing Superintendent Dane Delli, Johnson added.

Stolzer has children in the district's schools, attended them herself, and teaches in another district, Johnson said. She was the face of District 26's recent referendum committee and served on the River Trails Park District's strategic plan committee.
