Lake County restoration ecologist to hold plant, animal diversity discussion

Ken Klick, restoration ecologist for the Lake County Forest Preserve District, will discuss the county's diversity of plants and animals during the Lake County Audubon Society meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at the Libertyville village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave. The program will explore Lake County's unique geologic, climatic, and human history, which have shaped the biologic diversity of native plants and animals. Special attention will be given to species where volunteer support has helped protect species of concern. Klick, a botanist and naturalist, has served as a professional restoration ecologist with the district for 22 years. There is no charge to attend the 90-minute meeting, and children are welcome.
