Special Olympics athletes play on 'Court of Dreams'

The Chicago Bulls defeated the visiting Indiana Pacers 90-85 at the United Center on Monday, Dec. 26.

However, for District 15's Special Olympics athletes, the highlight of the evening came before the game even tipped off, when the program's basketball team - the Blue Jays - took the court for a quick game of its own.

This rare opportunity came via the Bulls' "Court of Dreams" program, which provided the Blue Jays 15 minutes of pregame fame and glory that they used to play basketball on the United Center court before thousands of Bulls fans.

The program also provided Bulls fans and Blue Jays supporters a chance to purchase half-price tickets. In fact, Terri Storino, District 15 Special Olympics coach, sold 362 tickets to the game to make this experience possible for the District's Special Olympics athletes.

"It was a great night to be a Blue Jay!" said Coach Storino.
