BrightSide presents 'Moon Over Buffalo'

BrightSide Theatre, a professional theater company performing in Naperville's historic downtown district, will continue its sixth season with the Broadway classic "Moon Over Buffalo."

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 4 p.m. Sundays, March 10-12, 17-19 and 24-26, at the theater at Meiley-Swallow Hall at North Central College, 31 S. Ellsworth St., Naperville.

From the mind of Ken Ludwig, writer of "Lend Me a Tenor," this Broadway comedy centers on the husband and wife acting team, George and Charlotte Hay - two fading stars of the 1950s.

In an attempt to keep their careers afloat, the couple is producing two plays simultaneously: Noel Coward's "Private Lives" and "Cyrano de Bergerac."

Suddenly, George receives word that Hollywood director Frank Capra may be coming to see a matinee performance, giving them one last chance at fame. That is, of course, if they can remember what play they are doing.

In short, everything that could go wrong does in this backstage farce full of romance, swordplay, prosthetic noses, and plenty of doors.

The play's cast includes Angela Aiello (Carol Stream), Richard Allen (Downers Grove), Bev Coscarelli (Chicago), Becca Duff (Oak Park), Rob Frankel (Aurora), Mary K. Nigohosian (Batavia), Jack Smith (Bloomingdale), and Peter Surma (Aurora).

Tickets are $27 for adults, $24 for students and seniors and $20 each for groups of 10 or more. For tickets, contact brightsidetheatre.com or call (630) 447-8497.
