Bartlett, Streamwood approve Toyota expansion
Both Bartlett and Streamwood officials have approved their portions of a redevelopment project to turn two old buildings east of Elgin Toyota in Streamwood into detail and maintenance shops for the dealership.
Representatives of the two villages called the project a welcome opportunity to clean up and improve the underperforming property on Lake Street, just beyond the current 5-acre campus of the business.
The redevelopment also will provide a water utility connection under Lake Street, an emergency interconnection between Bartlett and Streamwood, and stormwater detention for the entire 11-acre site.
