Enjoy improv, Super Shuffle 5K with Geneva Park District

The Geneva Park District invites you to enjoy some improv with Little Forward on Jan. 27 or sign up for the annual Super Shuffle 5K on Feb. 5. For more information, call (630) 232-4542 or visit genevaparks.org.

A Little Forward:

8 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Playhouse 38, 321 Stevens St., Suite P, Geneva, The evening will be one of hilarious improv provided by A Little Forward. The troupe, comprised of Chicago-area residents Jess Smith, Ben McGuiggan, Jess Benson, and Matt Hellyer, made its debut at a 24-hour improv festival in Madison, Wisconsin and recently reached the finals of the Collider Improv Competition in Chicago. A Little Forward's high-energy, totally-random, ROFL-inducing show is a perfect cure for the winter blahs. Recommended for ages 14 and older. Tickets are $10 or $8 for students with current high school/college ID.

Super Shuffle 5K:

10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, Geneva Middle School South, 1415 Viking Drive, Geneva, On-site registration and check-in is from 9 to 9:45 a.m.; the race begins at 19 a.m. This event will happen snow or shine. Immediately following the race, stop by the Stephen D. Persinger gym, 3507 Kaneville Road, for the Game Day Party from 10 a.m. to noon. Register online through Chronotrack at register.chronotrack.com/r/25422. Early registration by Monday, Jan. 22, is $34. Late registration after Jan. 22 and day-of registration is $39; race only option is $20. Pre-race packet pickup will be held from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Road.

Awards will be given to the overall top female and male finishers. All participants, except race-only, will receive a commemorative hooded sweatshirt, participation medal, and complimentary beverage ticket. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase.
