Immanuel Lutheran to Hold 2nd Community STEAM Night on January 26 @ 6:30 p.m.

Have fun with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math!

Immanuel Lutheran in Palatine will hold a "STEAM" night for the entire community on Thursday, January 26 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. STEAM is an acronym for "Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math." The evening is a collaboration among three groups: Busy Brains Children's Museum will bring their traveling exhibits to Immanuel, Mathnasium will have math games, and Immanuel's teachers have fun, yet educational, activities planned.

Brought back for a second year, STEAM Night introduces children to creative and critical thinking skills via entertaining, hands-on activities. Immanuel Lutheran School's classrooms - preschool through 8th grade - will be the site for a variety of different experiments and challenges all based around the STEAM framework. Look for sensory tables, tangrams, and an assortment of activities that will surprise and delight kids. As an added bonus, all children are eligible to enter a drawing…prizes include STEAM-related toys.

"We are so excited to be able to invite the community to come and 'play' with us once again. The STEAM concepts are truly best experienced hands-on. Thursday night provides parents and kids a chance to explore STEAM together - a chance to have fun learning together," says Immanuel Principal Delaine Schiestel.

Immanuel's teachers and staff will be stationed at the exhibits and around the building to explain the different activities and to answer any questions. STEAM night is for preschoolers through 8th graders and their parents/caregivers. Bring the whole family for a night of exciting, interactive learning!
