Schaumburg on Stage presents 'Footloose'

Schaumburg on Stage shows dancing is not a crime as it presents "Footloose" at the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts

Everybody will be cutting loose when Schaumburg On Stage presents the musical stage presentation, FOOTLOOSE, from January 20th through January 29th at the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Court, in Schaumburg.

Now in its 19th season, Schaumburg On Stage, the Northwest Suburb's Premier Theater Company for Young Actors, will feature Kaitlyn Chiostri, 16, of Schaumburg and Michele Gurrieri, 15, of Schaumburg as Ariel, the rebellious small town preacher's daughter, with Caleb Hacker, 16, of Hoffman Estates and Payton Kaye, 16, of Schaumburg, as the troublemaking, big-city boy, Ren. The production features talented actors, singers and dancers from all over the Chicago area.

Seth Anderson, 16, of Arlington Heights, plays the conservative Rev. Moore. Brad Wendt, 20, of South Elgin is the loveable side-kick Willard. Rounding out the cast of leads is Claire Moloczyj, 15, of Roselle and Abbey Reynolds, 14, of Schaumburg as Rusty. Paige Knoll, 17, of Elk Grove Village and Margie Vollkommer, 16, of Schaumburg as Ethel; Chase Fahy, 17, of Elk Grove Village and Cameron Hacker, 15, of Hoffman Estates, as Chuck, and Kelly Cagney, 16, of Barrington and DD Sutker, 15, of Barrington as Vi.

The production is lead by the new producers Mary Alice Benoit and Mary Miller, long time veterans of Schaumburg on Stage for over 15 years. Director and vocal director is John Hacker and Assistant Director is Taylor Benoit who leads Schaumburg on Stage alumni T'Lyn Candella and Danielle Zyrkowski as the choreographers.

The cast of 75 performers ranging in age from 6 to 21 years of age have been rehearsing since October preparing for this musical blockbuster featuring songs popularized by the 1984 original movie production and the 2011 remake. It is sure to be a performance that will have audiences dancing in their seats.

Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Jan. 20, 21, 27 and 28, and at 2 p.m. on Jan. 21, 22, 28, and 29 at the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Court in Schaumburg, Illinois.
