Schaumburg Library hosts Harry Potter Book Night

The magical, mystical world of Harry Potter will be the theme of a special all-ages event taking place from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.

Costumes are encouraged at Harry Potter Book Night, where the whole family can join the fun with activities, games and separate shows featuring owls and reptiles.

Come dressed as Harry, Hermione, Ron or one of the professors, then meet some owls, snakes and lizards and find out where the Sorting Hat will place you. Those familiar with Harry Potter potions are invited to test their knowledge in a potions trivia game.

Crafts in the Craft Room and most of the other events will be ongoing during this free program, but the owl and reptile shows will be held at specific times, with free tickets available 30 minutes prior to each performance.

The animal shows will run concurrently and each will be held twice, from 4-5 p.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. There is limited space for each event, but there are plenty of other activities for anyone who does not get into one of the shows.

No registration is required for Harry Potter Book Night. Simply drop in anytime from 4-7 p.m.
