9 Northern DuPage communities come together for Relay For Life
In an effort to raise needed funds for the American Cancer Society, nine communities will come together this summer to create one grand Relay For Life event.
The communities of Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Elk Grove, Glendale Heights, Hanover Park, Itasca, Medinah, Roselle and Streamwood will launch the fundraising effort with a Relay For Life of Northern DuPage Kickoff Celebration at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Holiday Inn Express, 1490 W. Lake St., Roselle.
Relay For Life is a tribute to those who have been lost to cancer, a celebration of those who have survived cancer, and a hope for those facing cancer that one day through fundraising efforts cancer will be eliminated. This team-based event gives friends, families and co-workers the opportunity to raise money. The funds raised at Relay For Life are used by the American Cancer Society for cancer research, education and early detection programs, advocacy, and local services and support programs for cancer patients and their caregivers.
Reservations are requested for the kickoff celebration; RSVP to Maryann Grygiel at (630) 893-6647 or mobysmom2k1@yahoo.com.
The Relay For Life of Northern DuPage will take place Friday, June 9, at Lake Park High School, East Campus, 600 N. Medinah Road, Roselle. For event information, visit relayforlife.org/northerndupageil.
