NCH wins Distinguished Hospital Award

Arlington Heights-based Northwest Community Healthcare announced Tuesday that it has received Healthgrades' 2017 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence, which recognizes NCH among the top 5 percent of more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide for its clinical performance.

Healthgrades is a leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.

"Our goal at NCH is to pursue a higher level of excellence every day. In fact, our culture of excellence demands it - it's that simple," NCH President and CEO Stephen Scogna said in a news release. "This award reflects the all-in commitment of every single NCH employee - both clinical and nonclinical."

From 2013 through 2015, patients treated in hospitals receiving Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence had, on average, a 26.2 percent lower risk of dying, across 19 procedures and conditions where mortality is the clinical outcome, than if they were treated in hospitals that did not achieve this distinction.
