A message of hope for President-elect Trump
I'm reading so many comments from anxious Americans who are wondering what Mr. Trump will do once he takes office. If I could share my hopes and concerns with Donald Trump, this is what I would say.
President Trump, I believe and pray that when you say you want to make America great again, that you are referring to a time in America when it was the building of family homes and factories that was on the increase and not the building of jails and prisons.
A time when the No. 1 priority of schoolteachers was student learning and not teachers' salaries and benefits.
A time when American jobs paid a living wage.
A time when most children were being raised by two parents and not just one.
A time when prayer was not only allowed in schools but encouraged.
A time when Americans of every race, creed and color were proud to be Americans.
I believe that this is the America in which most of us desire to live. If this is the greatness that you refer to then we are with you. May God be with us as we all work together to make America great again.
