Georgia Southwestern State women's soccer coach resigns

AMERICUS, Ga. (AP) - Georgia Southwestern State's women's soccer coach has resigned.

The university, in a news release Thursday, said Harold Munoz has accepted a position on the women's soccer staff at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.

Munoz completed his first season at the helm for the Lady Hurricanes in 2016. His first NCAA coaching position was at Eastern New Mexico University in 2005 where he guided the men's program after being hired by current Angelo State head women's soccer coach Travis McKorkle.

GSW coach Mike Leeder says they're sorry to see Munoz leave.

He says a national search for his replacement will begin immediately.
