Join NAMI's monthly coffee Saturday

NAMI Kane-south, DeKalb & Kendall Counties, an affiliate of National Alliance on Mental Illness, will sponsor its monthly coffee from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Centennial Counseling Center, 1120 E. Main St., Suite 102 in St. Charles.

A presentation and discussion about self care will be presented by Sara Schramer, M.A., LPC of Centennial Counseling Center. She has training and experience in working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. She helps clients work towards growth in a variety of areas including depression, anxiety, stress management, social skills, assertiveness, and adjustment/life transitions using a blend of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and a passionate strengths-based approach.

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. It advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need.

The public is welcome to attend the free monthly coffees held on the second Saturday of each month. Enjoy light refreshments and learn what NAMI-KDK offers in mental health education, advocacy and support for families and individuals living with mental health issues.
